Alternative and complementary options

In addition to drug treatment and surgery, there are other techniques that can be used to improve the physical and emotional well-being of a person with Parkinson’s disease.

A complementary treatment is one that is used alongside a more traditional therapy such as medication. An alternative therapy is one that is used instead of a recognised medical treatment. Whichever option is chosen, it is important to discuss all safety aspects with the doctor before starting or discontinuing any therapies.
